Flute Studio of Jenna Brixius
As a professional flutist and dedicated teacher with my music degree
from Oberlin Conservatory of Music, I offer my students valuable insights
into instrumental technique and musical expression
It is my aim in each lesson to encourage the exploration of the "how"
underlying fluent, virtuosic musicianship. The result?
Increased enjoyment and far less struggle!
Regardless of age, ability, and level (adults and professionals are welcome),
my teaching style is tailored to meet the needs of each student as they
discover their own unique learning process
One-on-One lessons are taught in several locations and formats:

Lesson Studio in Midtown Manhattan by Penn Station (NYC - 10001 zip)

In-home in Manhattan, Brooklyn & occasionally in Palm Beach County, FL

Virtually for students around the globe

Hybrid -- a combination of in-person & virtual lessons. I will work with you to create a plan that works best for our mutual schedules
Our students are invited to participate in events throughout the year, including
our Annual Spring Recital, Virtual and In-person Studio Classes,
and Guest Master Classes / Events
Studio Flutists have been selected for competitive honor ensembles and summer programs, including:
FBA All-State Bands
All-National Band
New World Symphony Side-by-Side Orchestras
Honor Band of America (Bands of America)
MPulse Flute Institute (University of Michigan)
The Artistic Flutist (Eastman School of Music)
Students have been admitted into these entry-by-audition programs:
Bak Middle School of the Arts, A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, New World School of the Arts and LaGuardia High School for the Arts
Additionally, students have won Concerto Competitions, placed in
High School Young Artist Competitions, and featured as a featured
student soloist with the Honor Band of America
In 2018, studio students were invited to perform as part of the
National Flute Association's “Solo Repertoire Gems” in the
Pedagogy Committee's conference presentation
Currently accepting students from South Florida (ie: Lake Worth, Wellington, Jupiter, Palm Beach, Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, Boca Raton) and
New York (ie: Midtown Manhattan, Brooklyn, Long Island, Queens, Staten Island),
New Jersey (ie: Edison, Metuchen, Hoboken, Jersey City, Union City),
nationally and even internationally!
